How often should pest control be done?

A great rule of thumb is to treat the inside of your home once or twice a year, then protect the outside with a quarterly perimeter treatment. That creates a strong barrier to keep pests from getting in and helps maintain a consistent, preventative plan.

Are your pest control treatments safe for children and pets?

What’s the difference between carpenter ants and termites?

Carpenter ants and termites can both damage wood, but they’re very different pests.

Carpenter ants don’t actually eat wood.
They chew through it to create smooth, clean tunnels where they live and build their colonies. You’ll often see wood shavings, called frass, pushed out of their galleries.

Termites eat wood as their food source.
They work from the inside out, which makes the damage harder to notice at first. You might spot mud tubes along walls or foundation as they travel in and out of your home.

Appearance matters.
Carpenter ants have elbowed antennae and a narrow waist.
Termites look more uniform with straight antennae and a thicker waist. Their wings also match in size, while carpenter ants have larger front wings.

Damage style is a giveaway.
Carpenter ant tunnels look neat and sanded.
Termite damage looks rough and messy since they’re literally eating the wood fibers.

How can I tell if the treatment is working?

You may start seeing dead pests soon after the treatment. Sometimes the activity can look worse before it gets better because the pests are coming into contact with the product. This is a normal part of the process. Depending on the pest type and product used, we may need to wait at least 14 days after the initial service before returning for any re-treatments. This allows time for the treatment to work fully.
