We are locally owned and operated by Charles Efird (early photo of the service techicians with their trucks). Charles’ father, Mr. J.W. Efird, opened Modern Exterminating in 1952. For 30 years, J.W. owned and managed the company until he passed away in 1982. Then and now, we continue to provide the highest quality pest and moisture control to all of Eastern NC.

I have service at 2 addresses. I do ant treatment every 6 months, mosquitoes during season and I do insect treatment inside my buildings and around them for spiders and such. Fantastic company, Mr James is an amazing tech with tons of knowledge on Moderns products and services. I have referred the company to everyone I know and they have bought services from Modern. I also do the yearly termite bond which is amazing.
